Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I like it)
Darryl in Ohio:
Just received the CD yesterday in the mail from your Mart. Have
played it at least 10 times, and can't get enough. As always, your
guys never fail to please the listener with your "modern" sound.
Great inventive bass, wonderfully expressive drums, and no one can match
that dual guitar interplay. The sound quality is superb, can hardly
tell its live. I love how the songs effortlessly take the listener
on those dreamy, yet rockin', mind excursions. This will be my poolside
party CD for the summer.
Arturo in Los Angeles:
I gotta say that this is a great CD! Cool artwork, excellent playing
and great choice of songs....and love the covers of the surf classic "The
Cruel Sea" and the Nirvana tune!
Congratulations!!
Matt in San Francisco:
Just want to add my recommendation for the new Pollo del Mar CD "Live
in Japantown". A real nice package of fine music w/a very clever
jacket concept/design. My favorite picture: (besides the anime, but
that's beside the point) the photo of Ferenc in front of the McDonald's
(w/ the hours 07:00-22:00). The live concert photos were also very
good and fit the theme to a "J". The sound was "Ichiban", most of
my audience tapes of the band either have Ferenc OR Jono dominating the
guitar, it is SO very nice to hear both guitars balanced to perfection
(the advantages of post-performance mix-down). Also, a good balance
of originals and cover songs.
Carl in Gilroy CA:
Great CD!! Now how does an American Surf Band with a Spanish
name end up in Japan Town? Only in SF!
Lloyd in Colorado:
Congrats on a first class job(as always). Spectacular musicianship.
A great mix of tunes. Plus a very cool and wonderfully funny concept
on the CD photos and liner info. It seems to remind me of something
I've seen before, but I couldn't venture a guess where that would be.
Brian in Indiana:
Hilarious packaging, very well done. I love these guys. When I want
to take a break from trad surf I throw these guys on to put me off balance.
They kind of have a new and different edge to the surf sound. Its still
rooted in surf but they have their own distinct take on it. Great original
songs, great playing, love their melodies, and some great covers: The Linus
& Lucy song, Zeppelin's 4 Sticks, and a Nirvana song.
