Occasionally we get asked to play a corporate show and this usually means that we have to be on our best behaviour (see The Explorer Experience). When a print shop called NextPress in Campbell asked us to come down and play at a crab-feed celebration for their new 5-color press, we didn't know what to expect. First, we played a subdued dinner set. It's always interesting to watch people eat, and we had fun playing lounge stlye versions of the usual Pollo fare. Between sets we gorged ourselves on the fabulous crab dinner spread. Finally, as the sun was going down, and the tiki torches were lit. We launched into a rockin set that got the crowd up and dancing. Chris took at 10 minute samba drum solo in the middle of "South of the Border" that got a conga line going! We had a blast! This poster was designed by Don Vigeant (see Gallery 23) and was rolling off the press hot and fresh as we played. Thanks Don! |
